Putanny Yawanawa

Daughter of the legendary Yawanawa leader Tuin Kuru, Putanny was one of the first women of her people to undergo the highest spiritual initiation of the ancients. She earned the respect of her community as a spiritual leader and paved the way for other Yawanawa women. This moment of rupture in tradition brought the male and female universes closer together, bringing the magic of female spirituality to strengthen the Yawanawa culture.

For this achievement, she received recognition from the Brazilian Senate for her importance in the empowerment of women. Putanny has a very strong voice and presence that carries the ancestry of her people. She currently spends most of her time in the Sacred Village, where she organizes spiritual retreats.
