Pêu is one of the most dedicated spiritual leaders of the new generation of the Yawanawa people. He has committed himself to the sacred samakei (diet), the highest spiritual initiation of the Yawanawa, for five consecutive years. During this period, he received teachings directly from the ancient Tatá and Yawa shamans who have already crossed over. His study with the elders brought great spiritual strength to his work with the healing recitations of the tradition.
Today Peû is responsible for preparing and serving the Yawanawa medicines in the Sacred Village. He is also a talented musician and in recent years has traveled to Europe, North America, and Asia, sharing the Yawanawa spirituality.
